​Calling all pig cookers in or around Clayton!  Join us for the 12th Annual Squealin’ on the Square Bbq Competition.  We only have 10 slots available for this awesome pig cooking competition that takes place during CCOC’s Clayton Harvest Festival, brought to you by Food Lion. The deadline to enter is October 6, 2023.

The entry fee includes the following:

  • This is a North Carolina Pork Council sanctioned event.
  • The pig is supplied for you.
  • Recognition on Clayton Chamber of Commerce’s social media.
  • Recognition for the winner on CCOC’s website.
  • Stage recognition and introduction by the emcee on Saturday, October 28, 2023.
  • Ability to enter the People’s Choice competition, if desired.
  • Prize opportunities!

Entry Fees

Entry fees are $200 and are non-refundable. If you choose to mail in a check instead of using a credit card, please enter the PROMO code CHECK and it must be received within 10 days of the application being received (and no later than October 6, 2023). Checks are to be mailed to the Clayton Chamber of Commerce, 301 E. Main Street, Clayton, NC 27520.  Your participation is greatly appreciated. The Clayton Chamber of Commerce is a non-profit organization and funds raised by the Clayton Harvest Festival are reinvested into the community.

*Note: Squealin’ on the Square no longer secures cook team sponsors. However, feel free to secure your own sponsor(s) to help offset your cook team’s entry fee cost.*

POLICIES AND RULES

SAFETY

We look forward to working with you this year! You and/or your organization are personally responsible to take any and all precautions set forth by the CDC, Health Officials and state guidelines in order to protect yourselves while volunteering, vending, or performing on the premises/footprint of the Clayton Chamber of Commerce’s Harvest Festival. By registering to be a cook team at the Clayton Harvest Festival, you recognize that you will be exposed to the public and that there is no way that the Clayton Chamber of Commerce can completely control the experience you will have by working with us or bring present at the Clayton Harvest Festival on any given day or time.

REFUND POLICY

The festival will be on the scheduled day regardless of weather, other than natural or unnatural disasters (hurricanes, floods, tornadoes, ice storms, terrorists attacks, pandemics, war, etc.).  As the Clayton Harvest Festival is hosted by a non-profit organization with revenues being used to cover the event costs, fees are non-refundable.The Clayton Harvest Festival will not refund fees due to inclement weather, government actions, strikes, terrorism acts or any other matters beyond its control, including but not limited to cancellation of the festival due to a direct result of an unforeseen disaster which renders the festival unable to continue. In the circumstance that the festival cannot occur on the scheduled date, all efforts will be made to reschedule.

Squealin’ on the Square People’s Choice

Let the people decide! We welcome your team to join in on the Fifth Annual People’s Choice Competition with prize. To participate in People’s Choice, you must mark it on this registration. There are no additional entry fees to participate in People’s Choice. Format of the competition will be posted at a later date.

Rules

This is a North Carolina Pork Council sanctioned event. You must read and initial that you agree to the official rules of the 2023 Squealin’ on the Square competition on the online registration. Please download the rules document below and read it prior to registering. Also, please bring a signed version with you to the event. During arrival, an event team member will collect your signed document or provide you with one to sign should you forget it.
